A pair of French 1874 model Gras bayonets with brass mounted hilts, shaped walnut grips with steel rivets and cross guards, triangular steel blades with arsenal marks, the back straps impressed ‘Mre d' Armes de St Etienne Mai 1878’ and Maine de Steyr 1878’, the steel quillons bent forward to form hooks, with three more worked and strategically welded for extra hanging.
