With painted wood hoops, rope tension system, drag rope, and foreign service aluminium cylinder as appropriate to the 1st Battalion’s inter-war deployments to India (1919), Sudan (1923), Egypt (1925) and Palestine (1936). The cylinder emblazoned with the boar’s head crest of the Argyll family and the wild cat crest of the Sutherland family and the cypher, coronet and label of Princess Louise, Duchess of Argyll (1848-1939), with Battle Honours from’ Cape of Good Hope, 1806’ to ‘Gaza’ (1918). The cylinder stamped ‘Henry Potter & Co / Makers / London / 36/38 West St., Charing + Road, London’; the emblazon signed ’Henry Potter & Co, 36/38 West St., Charing X Road, London WC2.
