Overall: 275cm (118in)

Steel and bamboo. Bamboo-shafted cavalry lances, each with a long socketed steel triangular section fullered head, stamped with the Board of Ordnance Broad Arrow and dated 1915, and a pointed steel ferrule. Each fitted with a red-over-white pennon, just below the spearhead, as originally conceived to disconcert the horses of opposing cavalry in close combat.

Good examples of the type used by the 9th Lancers in their charge against German guns on 24th August 1914 at Elouges, south-west of Mons.
