2nd Battalion, East Kent Regiment (The Buffs) side drum with brass cylinder, wood hoops, leather rope tensioning system, and restored hand painted regimental emblazon of twin crowned Tudor roses and Elizabethan dragon vert on a buff ground over the motto ‘Veteri Frondescit Honore’ (Its Ancient Honour Flourishes), flanked by Battle Honours from Blenheim (1704) to Chitral (1895). The cylinder bearing the maker’s stamp ‘2 EK / 5 / Henry Potter & Co / 38 Charing Cross / London / 1901’ with the Board of Ordnance broad arrow below; and the artist’s stamp ‘Heraldry By / George Potter Co / Aldershot’.
