Measurements: 22mm x 22mm

Gold, diamonds, rubies, sapphires, emeralds and enamel. In the form of the Prince of Wales’s feathers finely chased in yellow gold, bound by a coronet set with emerald, sapphire and ruby cabochons, flanked by the initials ‘A’ and ‘E’ for Albert Edward, Prince of Wales (afterwards King Edward VII) in yellow gold respectively set with ten round cut diamonds and ten round cut rubies, the whole over a blue enamelled motto scroll ‘Ich Dien’ (I serve). Contained in a S.J. Phillips Bond Street case.

The present brooch bears similarities to a larger example in the Royal Collection which was given by Prince Albert to Queen Victoria on 10 February 1842, to mark the occasion of the Prince of Wales's birth, which had taken place on 9 November 1841.
