Out hunting Prince Charles talks in the most natural way to as many people as he can, including the ones who catch his horse on the rare occasions when he has a fall. He has impressed many Masters with the interest he shows in the differing ways that their packs of hounds hunt on differing scenting days and in the way their huntsmen handle them. He is genuinely interested in the venery aspect of the performance and enormously enjoys riding and jumping his horse. This interest made Prince Charles an obvious choice as president of the Peterborough Royal Foxhound Society in this its centenary year. He gave great pleasure to all fox-hunters by honouring the Society by his presence at the Show …’
