Gilt metal on mother o’pearl. A set of three shirt studs and three waistcoat studs comprising the crowned and mirrored ER cypher of Edward VII over the flaming grenade of the Grenadier Guards, complete with split pin fittings. Contained in case of Ortner & Houle, 3 St. James’s Street, London.
Ortner & Houle (fl.1860-1900) were jewellers and suppliers of fitted travelling cases. They were also specialist heraldic seal, die and medal engravers and were the Royal Warrant holders in that regard.
