In the form of a Commander’s badge in 18 carat gold, the cross patonce set with sapphires, the centre bearing the figure of Britannia in relief as borne on the obverse of the insignia from 1917 to 1937 and encircled with rubies, suspended from a ladies bow set with a single cut diamond. Maker's mark of BEC. Marked ‘750’ for 750 parts per 1000 by weight (the equivalent of the old 18 carat gold standard).
