Tapered opener applied with seated Britannia in holding in her right hand an olive branch and in her left a trident, with shield emblazoned in enamels with the Union Jack, the whole over the Roman numeral IX, for 9th Regiment Foot, and title scroll in blue enamel. Maker’s Mark of JWB. Hallmarked 1937.
