With painted ash hoops, rope tension system, drag rope, and brass cylinder emblazoned with the Cross of St. Andrew upon a title circlet containing representation of Edinburgh Castle betwixt the mottoes ‘In Veritate Religionis Confido’ (I believe in the truth of my faith) and ‘Nisi Dominus Frustra’ (Except the Lord in vain), all within a wreath of thistles, flanked by battle honours from Mons to Irrawady.
