Gilt brass, wood, silk and bullion wire. King’s Colour with Great War Battle Honours and Regimental Colour with Battle Honours from Gibraltar 1704-5 to Afghanistan 1919, each set on a half-pike with gilt finial in the form of an openwork crown surmounted by a lion; a pair of brass capped leather covers, a turned wooden stand, and a pair of miniature shoulder belts; complete with original fitted case.
The miniature stand of colours are presumed to have been made to mark the occasion of the new Colours being presented to the 2nd Battalion on 27 June 1924, at Tanglin Barracks, Singapore, by the Governor of the Straits Settlements, Sir L. Guillemard, K.C.B., K.C.M.G., in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief.
