Realistically modelled as a cavalry officer's pouch, typical lightly curved rectangular form, the lid applied with a regimental badge flanked by battle honours and above the motto and engraved with a bright-cut foliate border, the front ribbed to form the strike plate, the sides applied with foliate fittings and suspension rings. Gilt interior. Maker’s mark of Edward H. Stockwell. Hallmarked London 1884.
