Brass cylinder, painted hoops, leather tabs with rope tensioning. Emblazon, attributed to Henry Potter & Co, Charing X Road, London W.C. 2, comprising the Royal arms, over the Leek. The cylinder stamped with maler’s name ‘Hawkes & Son / Makers / London / 5805 / W.G / 2.’
The present drum dates to the earliest days of the Welsh Guards following formation in 1915 by order of King George V.
